Glenfiddich has officially launched its first limited edition 48-year-old single malt whisky at the Monterey Car Week in California. This marks the inaugural release in collaboration with the Aston Martin Formula One Team, with only 50 bottles available worldwide.
The release of this limited edition whisky not only celebrates the rich histories of both brands but also showcases the exceptional quality of the 48-year-old expression. Bottled at an alcohol content of 48.8% ABV, it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern precision. The whisky matures first in reused sherry casks, followed by a finishing period in hand-crafted 100-liter European oak sherry casks.
As part of the Monterey launch event, Glenfiddich hosted a carefully curated pop-up tasting experience at The House of Aston Martin, featuring a perfect blend of this unique whisky with Aston Martin’s Valhalla plug-in hybrid supercar.
Imran Ahmed, the Executive Director of Glenfiddich, stated, ‘We hope this launch showcases our brand’s exceptional craftsmanship and historical heritage. We are demonstrating our innovation and commitment to sustainability to consumers around the world.’
This release not only highlights the brand’s longstanding tradition in the whisky industry but also aims to further expand its market influence through collaboration with Aston Martin. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience a luxurious lifestyle that combines brand heritage with modern innovation through this distinctive whisky.
This rare whisky will be exclusively available at William Grant & Sons’ The Distillers Library whisky boutique and the Glenfiddich Distillery, with a starting price of £20,000. This launch further solidifies Glenfiddich’s position in the luxury whisky sector.
