The Japanese brand Goldwin 0 is continuously expanding its future design project into new territory with the upcoming launch of its Performance Capsule collection for SS25. Led by Nur Abbas, the team collaborated with Goldwin’s tech lab to utilize heatmapping technology, creating a design system that is both functional and visually striking.
Through meticulous testing, the team identified body areas most exposed to sunlight and those that generate excess moisture, mapping the construction of each garment accordingly based on this data.
From a distance, the pieces may appear unassuming, but up close, their unique architecture reveals itself through various circular and curvilinear cutouts and light-reflective features. The products come in stone-colored palettes and are made from quick-drying materials, exuding a subtly futuristic sensibility.
Inspired by Japan’s rich tradition of trail running, the redesigned Goldwin Star Trail Pack stands out as a highlight of the collection, featuring 26 ventilation holes and front compartments for easy access. Additionally, breathable compression shorts and waterproof ripstop shorts with unique scalloped detailing enhance the collection’s running focus. For tops, Goldwin 0 offers short-sleeved and long-sleeved tees that incorporate a distinctive circular ventilation system.
Founded in 1954, Goldwin’s commitment to advanced design is rooted in a long history of materials research, recently exemplified by the Goldwin Paper Fiber Collection, which combines a crisp abaca-based textile with KODENSHI finishes. With the introduction of the Performance Capsule, the brand further solidifies its established ethos of innovation.
