Sonic and TikTok coming to Tesla’s in-car system

Tesla’s annual holiday update rolls out in the next few days and here’s what to expect. Version 2021.44.25 will see new driving features like automatic access to a car’s blind spot cameras, games built into Tesla Arcade, TikTok support, and a feature that lets the electric cars “dance to a choreographed light show.” 

Sega is bringing back the original 1991 Sonic the Hedgehog game — this time for Tesla Arcade. Sega says that the game will support a USB-connected controller, so users can expect the full-speed, nostalgic experience of zipping through Green Hill Zone. Tesla Arcade has become the cause of safety concerns because some games work while the vehicle is in motion. Recent games such as Sky Force Reloaded will work while you’re driving, but it is unknown if Sonic will also work that way.

Practical improvements include simplified controls to access the car’s key controls and an easy way to add multiple waypoints to your journey. You can also personalise your car’s menu bar for the apps you use most often. Additionally, the front seat heater can now adjust the temperature based on the general temperature inside the car.
