Time’s 100 Best Inventions of 2020

TIME magazine has officially released the 100 best inventions of 2020. The feature takes time to showcase new products and innovations that have change the way people have lived over the course of the year. The list is divided into a number of categories, with sections including “Accessibility,” “Beauty,” “Entertainment” and “Fitness.”

The most obvious entries on the list include Sony‘s PlayStation 5, which features alongside the Xbox Series S in the “Entertainment” section. In the design category, the two sneaker designs Allbirds Tree Dasher and Nike’s Air Zoom Alphafly Next makes an appearance.

There are multiple other inventions on the list that show how the world has changed over the past year, this mostly comes down to COVID-19’s influence throughout 2020. An example of this would be the LIXIL Sato Tap, the portable handwashing station. Another example would be Animal Crossing which references how the game became an overnight sensation as lockdown measures spread across the world.
