Auction to Support Families of Black Women Killed by Police Backed by Hundreds of Artists

An auction and exhibition called “Show Me the Signs” has been supported by hundreds of artists. The aim of the project is to fight against police brutality and injustices amongst the systemic problem in the US, and to shed light on people’s stories. Proceeds from the exhibition will go directly to the AAPF #SayHerName Mothers Network which works with the mothers and families of Black women murdered by police.

The Executive Director of AAPF #SayHerName said

“Black women and girls do not fit the most accessible frames of anti-Black police violence, and because of that, it’s difficult to tell their stories in a way that people recognize and remember.”

The project has gained exposure and has the backing of many artists and celebrities such as Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Bruno Mars, Marilyn Minter, Jim Carrey and April Bey.

The auction will take place in Los Angeles and will run in two parts. Part 1 will run from November 10 to 19, and Part 2 running from November 21 to 30. All of the signs from the auction will be available to view from October 30 to November 14.
