Khabib Ovetakes Jon Jones on UFC Fighter List

Khabib Nurmagomedov has now secured the top spot on the UFC’s Pound-for-Pound Fighter List. This comes alongside his victory against Justin Gaethje last week; Khabib also announced his retirement during his post-fight interview. The champion explained that this will now be the end of his MMA career; he then went on to saying “I know only one thing I want from UFC, you guys have to be me on No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world, because I deserve this. UFC undisputed, undefeated lightweight champion, 13-0, 13 in UFC, 29 in all pro MMA career. I think I deserve it.”

It’ll be unclear as to how long Nurmagomedov will stay at the top of the list as he has clearly been very adamant about retiring. The champion will remain to be considered as an active fighter on the UFC roster until the United States Anti-Doping Agency has been notified. He will then be pulled from the drug testing pool, which will then confirm his retirement.
