A hidden “Wireless Reverse Charge” Feature for iPhone 12?

According to new sources, the iPhone 12 might have a “wireless reverse change function”. This has been flagged by the new FCC filings.

This function has been rumoured for some time and potentially could be true! The filings suggest that the iPhone 12 line may finally introduce bilateral wireless charging. This hidden feature technically means that iPhone 12 users are able to charge other devices and Apple products. Apple insiders are also noting that the feature would be the advanced element of the MagSafe system, and may be announced alongside the rumoured AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2 earphones.

Two-way charging was also a feature rumoured for the iPhone 11 line-up, but Apple analysts later said the feature was abandoned because “the charging efficiency may not meet Apple’s requirements.”
