It’s here! The reality series is finally back almost a decade later. According to reports, MTV international will reboot two different versions of the show. One focusing on celebrity home outside of the United States and one focusing on properties Stateside. The series will be debuting on October 26, 2020 with guests such as Stefflon Don, Caitlyn Jenner and Gemma Collins. The U.S. counterpart will premiere in early 2021.
MTV first aired in 2000 and ran for 13 consecutive seasons. We got to see an insight into lavish celebrity homes as it featured Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian-West and 50 Cent. By 2005, MTV had showcased over 185 properties; the show was then rebooted in 2010, 2011 and 2017. The forthcoming series will be the first time it’ll be showcased on MTV channels in over a decade.
“As we spend more time at home this year, our fascination with where and how others live is growing,” Craig Orr, VP of original content and development for youth and entertainment at ViacomCBS Networks International, said in a statement. “’MTV Cribs’ continues to connect our worldwide audiences with their favorite stars as they welcome us into their homes for an exclusive tour. This is pure property porn escapism at its most fabulous.”
