Spotify Launches Feature To Search for Songs via Lyrics

Spotify makes it easier for users, thanks to its new “lyrics match” feature, to find a piece that they only know from a lyric or two.

A Spotify engineer brought a newest addition to the streaming service from his team to Twitter, posted a screenshot of the Spotify app with the lyrics ‘if I could go’ typed in the search bar and a songs list with the ‘lyric match’ mark just below. The engineer, who is called Lina on Twitter, further verified that both iOS and Android users are using the method.

Spotify released a new set of charts in addition to the new function, which separately matches the top albums and songs in the US and worldwide. Every Monday, every diagram will be updated and data from Friday to Thursday monitored. Reports say that new lists will only be published on the Spotify charts Twitter account and will vary from the charts in the app.
