Grand Palais Host A Free Art Treasure Hunt in Paris

The iconic project “Wanted!” has been hosted by the historic Grand Palais and Perrotin Gallery. It involves getting your hands on free artwork by Takashi Murakami and 19 other pieces by different artists. It’s simply up for grabs to anyone that’s able to find it.

Other artists included within the hunt are Emily Mae Smith, Danial Arsham and JR. The gallery have explained over Instagram the few simple rules the project has in place. “20 artworks by Perrotin artists will be concealed in the empty nave of the Grand Palais. If you find one, you leave with it.” The treasure hunt has been sectioned by time slots of 50-minute sessions, with a 500-person maximum capacity per slot due to COVID-19.

In a statement Emmanuel Perrotin commented:

“I am hugely grateful to my artists for their commitment and belief in this wild project. This is a rare moment. I love the idea of doing this as a gift to the city of Paris, as a moment of solidarity and joy.”

Perrotin adds that he’s always kept the idea of this project in mind ever since he visited the Grand Palais 7 years ago.

The treasure hunt will run for only 48 hours from October 24-25 and participation will be free of charge.
