Aston Martin Unveils Its Roofless 700-Horsepower V12 Speedster Prototype

Aston Martin announced its upcoming V12 Speedster with a series of renderings earlier in March, and now fans finally have the opportunity to see the true roofless racer, although a prototype.

For those who may have skipped the initial launch, the newest production from the British automaker is a mix of the Vantage and the Superleggera DBS. The car has, as its name implies, a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine capable of pumping out a whopping 700 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, channelled through a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission via the rear wheels. With its peak speed maxing out at 186 mph, the figures equate to a 0-60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds. 21-inch forged centre-locking wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, and adaptive dampers are other features.

Just 88 of the Speedster V12 will be designed by Aston Martin for $950,000 each.
